India's First-Ever Initiative Taken by Vee Technologies to Develop a Plastic Waste Recycling System in India

Plastonix, a Canadian leader in plastics recycling technology, and Vee Technologies, a global IT services company, announce a strategic joint venture to develop an innovative plastic waste recycling system in India. This is the first-ever initiative led by Vee Technologies in India with a mission to develop a plastic waste recycling system. The companies will form a joint venture to develop a state-of-the-art plastic waste recycling system tailored for the Indian market.

The first facility will be built at a location chosen by Vee Technologies using Plastonix's patent-pending technology. The pilot plant will be designed and built by Vee Technologies' in-house engineering team using innovative machinery and production techniques. This facility will help the joint venture by acting as a testing ground to maximize the technology's effectiveness on a commercial scale.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), India produced 9.46 million tonnes of plastic garbage in 2023, of which over 40% consisted of single-use plastics. Alarmingly, just 8% of this garbage is recycled at the moment. Plastonix and Vee Technologies' partnership seeks to dramatically raise these numbers by turning plastic waste into useful resources like building materials and industrial fuel.

Roland Kielbasiewicz, CEO of Plastonix, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “With their significant engineering strength, Vee Technologies is an exceptionally good fit for Plastonix. We look forward to working closely together with their team for the coming years.”

Chocko Valliappa, Founder and CEO of Vee Technologies, added, “The versatility and ubiquitous use of plastics in the modern world have made plastic waste disposal one of the major challenges crying for a solution. We are excited to partner with Plastonix to test and expand the use of this technology by reformulating waste plastic into industrial fuel and construction aid.” Once the pilot plant achieves its goals, Plastonix and Vee Technologies plan to launch a comprehensive plastic recycling program across India, aiming to significantly reduce plastic waste and contribute to a cleaner, greener environment.
