Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identifying number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to Indian citizens who have passed the authority's verification process. Anyone who is a resident of India or a NRI can enroll to get an Aadhaar number, regardless of their age or gender. Only one Aadhaar number is generated for each person, as uniqueness is achieved through demographic and biometric de-duplication.
For inhabitants across the country, the Aadhaar system provides a single source of offline/online identification verification. Once you've enrolled, you can use your Aadhaar number to verify and validate your identity multiple times, either electronically or through offline verification. It eliminates the need to present identification documents each time you want to use services, receive benefits, or receive subsidies. According to a Supreme Court of India order, government officials are required by law to keep your personal information private. You can be assured that your address, biometrics, and other personal information will remain private.
The concept of Aadhaar is to authenticate individual identification and securely store their credentials, resulting in a centralized database of every person in the country. An Aadhaar number is valid for the entirety of one's life. You can receive it once and never have to renew or reapply for it again.
It can be used as proof of identity in a variety of situations. The Aadhaar Card streamlines everything from simple activities like establishing a cellphone connection to more sophisticated ones like applying for a passport. The Aadhaar number does not impose any limitations or cut-offs on its users. Any Indian, regardless of caste, creed, age, gender, or religion, can apply for an Aadhaar at no cost, and the number will not disclose any personal information about the cardholder because it is generated automatically and without human intervention.
Between 2012 and 2015, Vee Technologies began village-level Aadhaar campaigns in various states across India. We've held roughly 35000 camps and successfully generated 67,00,000 Aadhaar Cards.
We successfully won contracts with ITI Limited and Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) as Enrolment Agencies to gather Biometric and Demographic data for the National Population Register (NPR) in various states through a bidding process in 2014. To cover the Census Population through this process, we held roughly 500 camps.
In 2015, we partnered with Bangalore-based Bharat Electronics Limited to implement biometric and demographic data collection for the Tamil Nadu State's National Population Register (NPR). Vee Technologies then reached a tipping point with Project NPR, where we were inspired by the client and were able to set up 200 camps in Chennai within a week. The BEL recognized our efforts and awarded us the Marine Fishers Identity (MFID) Card Biometric Collection Project in 2016.
